McLaughlin Asset Management, Inc., a Haddonfield wealth-management firm, has hired Walter A. Eife as director of retirement plans. He had been supervising principal of his own independent investment-management firm, Waypoint Financial Partners L.L.C., an affiliate of ING Financial Partners.

Helene Burns has been promoted to vice president of clinical services for Kennedy University Hospital in Stratford, from assistant vice president.

Michael L. Stern has been hired as vice president of health-care services at Albert Einstein Healthcare Network, Philadelphia. He had been vice president of operations at St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan.

Comcast Corp. has promoted Thomas Jelinek to vice president of finance for the Freedom Region from senior director of financial planning and analysis for the region, which covers Greater Philadelphia, New Jersey, and northern Delaware.

Petplan, a Philadelphia-based pet-insurance company, has hired Michael Miller as director of business development. Previously, Miller worked for CareerBuilder L.L.C. as a managing consultant for major accounts.

The Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, a nonprofit corporation, has hired Dan Miller as executive director, hotel sales, and Katie Bender as Midwest national account sales director. Miller was director of sales at the Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn's Landing. Bender was the Midwest Regional citywide director for the Toronto Convention and Visitors Association.

S.R. Snodgrass A.C., a Wexford, Pa., accounting, auditing, and consulting firm, has named Michael D. Peduzzi a shareholder and principal with the firm's consulting and outsourcing groups in its King of Prussia office. He had been executive vice president and chief financial officer of Union Community Bank in Lancaster.

Gilford Securities Inc., a New York boutique investment firm, has hired Jeremy D. Hare to open its Philadelphia branch as director-investments. Hare had been executive director-investments for Oppenheimer & Co. Inc.

KPMG L.L.P., the audit, tax and advisory firm, has named Larry Cusack to lead its Pennsylvania tax practice based in Philadelphia. Cusack takes over for Ed Liva, who has led the Pennsylvania practice since 2005. Cusack was leader of the firm's East Region State & Local Tax practice.
