Cynthia Churchman Marshall, 80, of Devon, who sold homes on the Main Line for almost 40 years, died of a lung infection Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Paoli Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Marshall attended Miss Zara's School in Chestnut Hill, graduated from Springside School, and attended Carleton College in Minnesota for two years.

On Halloween in 1952, she married John Marshall. They met at Charles Blum Advertising Agency in Philadelphia. She was a secretary, and he was an account executive.

While raising three sons in Strafford and Wayne, Mrs. Marshall was a volunteer fund-raiser for SS Hope, a hospital ship whose staff provided medical care and training in underdeveloped countries.

When her children were all in school, Mrs. Marshall worked in the president's office at Bryn Mawr College. She then sold real estate for Cullen & Co. in Haverford and for Henderson-Dewey in Wayne. She was a Realtor with Prudential Fox Roach in Devon, where she was a regular member of the Million Dollar Club. She retired five years ago.

She was personable and energetic and loved her work, her son William said. She had good taste and could advise sellers how to stage their homes, he said.

Mrs. Marshall enjoyed needlecraft and tennis and was very involved in her grandchildren's activities, her son said. She and her family vacationed for years in Westport, Mass., and later she and her husband vacationed often on St. Bart's in the Caribbean.

In addition to her husband and son, Mrs. Marshall is survived by sons John and Samuel; a brother; a sister; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at St. David's Episcopal Church, 763 S. Valley Forge Rd., Wayne, on Monday, Oct. 31, her 59th wedding anniversary.
