Salem's Devin Walker goes over 1,000 yards rushing

Salem's Devin Walker went over 1,000 yards rushing for the season, and the Rams used a safety as the decisive score in an 8-6 win at Penns Grove on Monday in a West Jersey Football League interdivision matchup.

Penns Grove (4-3) took an early lead on Tay'shon Hayward's short touchdown run, but Salem (5-2) tied the score with 6 minutes left in the second period on Rollin Davis' 20-yard TD run.

Before halftime, Tyler Owens broke through for a quarterback sack in the end zone and the safety turned out to be the final scoring in the game.

Walker, a 6-foot, 200-pound senior, carried the ball 20 times for 140 yards and boosted his season total to 1,053 yards.

Woodrow Wilson 41, Cumberland 30 - The teams combined 65-second-half points, including three fourth-quarter touchdowns that helped the Tigers (5-2) put away the interdivision win over the Colts (2-5).

Aaron Spencer threw for 253 yards and three touchdowns, hitting Terrence Chambliss with scoring strikes of 58 and 34 in the final period, and Sean Walters added his second rushing touchdown of the game for insurance.

Chambliss grabbed seven passes for 178 yards, and Walters finished with 70 yards on eight carries.

For Cumberland, De'Hahn Milledge ran for two touchdowns.

Woodbury 27, Audubon 7 - Tyrone Bundy's two short touchdown runs started the Thundering Herd (4-3, 3-1) to a Colonial Conference Patriot Division win over the visiting Green Wave (2-5, 1-3).

 

Soccer

Goals by Johnny Alemi and Kaleb Morales in a 10-minute span in the second half gave Colonial Conference Liberty Division champ Haddonfield a 2-0 win over visiting Haddon Township, the Patriot Division winner.

Bulldogs goalie Vincent DelDuca made four saves as Haddonfield (15-1) notched its 10th shutout of the season and handed the Hawks (14-2) their second loss.

Nonleague. Two second-half scores from Sirweah Quioh allowed Millville to grab a 2-2 draw at Cumberland. Jonathan Matias and Brandon Shidner scored for the Colts.
