Dan Gross: Chris Tucker goes mental

November 02, 2011|By Dan Gross

COMIC ACTOR CHRIS TUCKER has begun work on "The Silver Linings Playbook," which has been shooting in town for a few weeks.

On Monday, the "Rush Hour" and "Friday" star played a mental patient in a group-therapy scene that also featured Rydal-raised Bradley Cooper and was shot at Norristown State Hospital.

Ink-free mayor

Mayor Nutter says he neither has, nor wants, a tattoo. We didn't think so but decided to ask whether Hizzoner had any ink after realizing that both his mayoral-election opponents have tattoos. Karen Brown sports a dolphin on her right breast, and Wali "Diop" Rahman has "Serve the People" on the left side of his neck. Neck tat? That's hardcore.

In the Pink

Pink Floyd's Roger Waters performs the group's classic double-album "The Wall" on July 14 at Citizens Bank Park. The show was just announced, and tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday through ComcastTix.com and at the ballpark. Waters brought the show to the Wells Fargo Center for several nights last year. His touring band for the July show includes former "Saturday Night Live" bandleader G.E. Smith on guitar.

Second lady in town

Jill Biden will speak tomorrow evening at the AIM for the Stars gala at the Union League.

The event, also featuring Mayor Nutter and former Gov. Ed Rendell, is a fundraiser for the Academy in Manayunk, a school for children with learning disabilities, to build a larger campus. NBC 10's Monique Braxton emcees the event.

* Regarding Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, we mistakenly said yesterday that she was the stepmother of Ashley Biden, while reporting Ashley's engagement to Jefferson Hospital Dr. Howard Krein. Jill is Ashley's mother.
