The Wildcats appeared to be in control, thanks to first-half goals by Chris DePierro and Corey Hamilton. But a little over a minute after switching positions, Andrew helped Township cut the deficit in half by setting up Zach Curl's score with 18 minutes, 58 seconds to go. The Hawks pulled even when Mike McCutcheon deposited Curl's pass with 7:52 remaining in regulation, and Andrew netted the deciding goal off an assist by Kevin Kasilowski as the match entered its final minute.
"Moving Collin up top was the key, because he added so much to the attack," Bonder said.
"Kevin Kasilowski played a great ball to Collin at the corner of the 18 [yard line], and Collin one-touched it right into the net," the coach continued. "That was an example of a senior who didn't want his season to end."
Haddon Township will face Point Pleasant Beach in Tuesday's state semifinal. The third-seeded Garnet Gulls upended top seed Burlington City, 1-0, to win the Central Jersey crown.
South Jersey Group 4. Mike Ryan scored his 30th goal of the season just 22 seconds into the match, converting a pass from Angelo Dambalas, and Kevin Slusarz set up Jason Spieker's goal in the 68th minute to enable top-seeded Cherokee to hold off No. 3 seed Toms River East, 2-1.
Barry Fitzgerald made five saves for the Chiefs, who captured their second consecutive sectional title and advanced to Tuesday's state semifinal against East Brunswick.
