Eagles recognize Timber Creek football coach for success

Posted: November 13, 2011

Timber Creek's football team is 9-0 and has never been undefeated this late in the season, and coach Rob Hinson has been cited for the Chargers' success.

Hinson was honored at Sunday's Eagles-Arizona Cardinals game as the coach of the week, presented by The Inquirer and Daily News.

This is part of an NFL program in which teams honor a coach of the week at each of their home games. The Timber Creek athletic department also received a $1,000 contribution.

During the first half, Hinson was introduced, and his exploits were shown on the scoreboard.

"It really feels pretty good," Hinson said. "This came completely out of the blue, and it was a great honor."

Of course, Hinson couldn't celebrate too long. Timber Creek will host Woodrow Wilson in Friday's South Jersey Group 3 semifinal.
