Sideshow: Moviegoers seized by 'Twilight' scene

Posted: November 26, 2011

How good is The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1? Sooo good, it's bad for your health.

So baaad, it can kill you where you stand. (Not really.)

CBS News says thousands of fans (OK, like, a handful) have had seizures during the infamous part in which Kristen Stewart gives birth to Robert Pattinson's monstrous progeny. The scene's "strobing red, white and black imagery may have triggered episodes of photosensitive epilepsy," London's Daily Mail says with authority. Seems it only affects males of the species.

Illness for two Michaels

Lindsay Lohan's dad, Michael, had emergency heart surgery Friday in Florida after he was rushed to the hospital Thursday night with chest pains. MiLo, 51, is currently serving a court-ordered four-month rehab stint in Florida following his arrest for allegedly assaulting his ex-gf, Kate Major. . . . Brit singer George Michael has canceled his remaining European tour due to ongoing treatment for pneumonia.

Celebs ate, gave thanks

George Clooney, 50, is serious enough with his new mate, former WWE wrestler Stacy Keibler, 32, to whisk her to Cabo for some T-Day water-skiing. In a similar move, Jennifer Lopez, 42, took her three babies, 3-year-old twins Max and Emme and 24-year-old boytoy Casper Smart, to Hawaii for turkey, says RadarOnline.

People mag says Kim Kardashian made sweet potato soufflé for her family's gathering. Theirs is not such a mirthful home: The New York Post says backlash from Kim's disastrous union with Kris Humphries has forced the clan to cancel its lucrative Christmas TV special. And AOL TV reports that an online petition to boycott all Kardashian products has picked up steam: It had 168,813 signatures as of Friday afternoon. . . . Meantime, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, who'd observed Twitter silence since their split-up announcement Nov. 17, tweeted Thanksgivingly. Demi: "Why do we have only 1 day for giving thanks? Is that why so many people feel unappreciated? Make this 1 of 365 days of Thanksgiving!" Kutch: "I'm thankful for family, friends, you, & time to reach my potential. What are you thankful for? #thanksgiving" Sweeeeeet!!!
