Make plans for state football playoffs

November 28, 2011

Travel time will be minimal this weekend for most fans wanting to watch quarterfinals in the PIAA state football playoffs.

Reason: Two will be in the city and even the third game won't be that far.

The only game Friday night, Archbishop Wood vs. Pottsgrove in AAA, has been scheduled for 7 o'clock at Northeast High's Charlie Martin Memorial Stadium.

Saturday offers a choice. You can head to the South Philly Super Site for West Catholic vs. Pen Argyl, noon start, in AA or hoof it to Liberty High, in Bethlehem, for La Salle vs. Nazareth, 1 o'clock start, in AAAA.

Story continues below.

Using mostly Route 309, a trip from La Salle to Liberty requires about 70 minutes. Not bad, right?
