Prosecutors asked a judge Thursday to delay the trial of an 18-year-old accused in a terrorism plot because of the case's complexity.
A motion filed in federal court in Philadelphia said the government needed more time to prepare for the trial of Mohammad Hassan Khalid. Khalid was an honors student from outside Baltimore when he was indicted in October on charges of helping Colleen R. LaRose, the Montgomery County woman known online as "Jihad Jane," raise money and recruits for a Muslim holy war. He pleaded not guilty Oct. 24.
