Delco man pleads guilty in Facebook-posts case

A Delaware County man who made threatening statements on Facebook in September pleaded guilty Tuesday to a reduced charge, according to his attorney.

Brian Pontecorvo, 57, of Upper Darby, initially was charged with making terroristic threats, a misdemeanor, said Robert Keller, the defendant's attorney. That charge was dropped, and he instead pleaded guilty to harassment and was fined $300.

Pontecorvo, who has no criminal history, posted a number of nonspecific threats on his Facebook account, including: "His days are numbered" and "That one cop . . . he's mine." They were believed to be directed at Upper Darby police and Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, in Darby.

Keller said Pontecorvo was under a doctor's care and has received anger-management treatment. - Mari A. Schaefer
