A STATUE of Kate Smith stood outside the Spectrum.
Now, a statue of two Flyers greats will be built where the Spectrum once stood.
The Daily News has learned that a 12-foot statue of the legendary Bob Clarke and Bernie Parent will be part of Xfinity Live!, the new dining and entertainment complex being built at the South Philadelphia sports complex.
The statue will show the two Hall of Famers hoisting the Stanley Cup, which the Flyers won back-to-back in 1974 and '75.
Xfinity Live! is scheduled to open April 5, officials said last week.
The only Flyers player immortalized with a statue outside the Spectrum was Gary Dornhoefer, the Flyers right winger who was the central figure of "Goal!," a piece that commemorates his overtime goal against the Minnesota North Stars in the 1973 Stanley Cup playoffs.
