Tattle: Sinead's marriage goes up in smoke

Posted: December 30, 2011

SINEAD O'CONNOR revealed to the British paper The Sun why her marriage to drug counselor Barry Herridge lasted only 18 days. And it wasn't to one-up Kim Kardashian.

O'Connor had previously admitted that she went on a wild hunt for weed after the two tied the knot at a Las Vegas drive-through. But things got dicier than the intended puff, puff, pass.

"We ended up in a cab in some place that was quite dangerous. I wasn't scared - but he's a drugs counselor. What was I thinking?" O'Connor told the Sun. "Then I was handed a load of crack. Barry was very frightened - that kind of messed everything up a bit, really."

Just remember, Sinead: Crack is whack.

Love bites *

Yesterday, Tattle told you about how rumors of a Katy Perry-Russell Brand split were growing louder after the two decided to spend the holidays apart (Perry in Hawaii, Brand in London). Those rumors are now deafening as both Brand and Perry were spotted separately without their wedding rings.

* Country star Wynonna Judd, daughter of Naomi and sister of Ashley, announced her engagement to the amazingly named Cactus Moser, who popped the question on Christmas Eve. The couple tour as Wynonna and the Big Noise. This is Judd's third marriage.

* Basketball legend Michael Jordan got engaged to his GF of three years, model Yvette Prieto. This will be Jordan's second marriage.

* Victoria's Secret supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio announced she is four months pregnant with her second child with fiancé Jamie Mazur. But you would never know: Ambrosio recently walked in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, and viewers were none the wiser.

* Former "Will and Grace" star Debra Messing, who recently divorced Daniel Zelman, is now shacking up with actor Will Chase, her co-star in NBC's "Smash." The rub? Chase is married to theater actress Stephanie Gibson but is now giving her the heave-ho in favor of the more-famous Messing.

Fey-tal attraction

Working Mother named Upper Darby homegirl Tina Fey the Most Powerful Mom of 2011. Melinda Gates, wife of Microsoft head honcho Bill, shares the honor with Fey, who gave birth to her second child, Penelope Athena Richmond, in August. The sixth season of Fey's "30 Rock" premieres at 8 p.m. Jan. 12 on NBC.

TATTBITS * Kelly Clarkson recently tweeted that she was a fan of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul. "I love Ron Paul," she tweeted. "I liked him a lot during the last republican nomination and no one gave him a chance. If he wins the nomination for the Republican party in 2012 he's got my vote. Too bad he probably won't." Fans promptly confronted the singer about the recent controversy surrounding racist newsletters from the Paul camp. She responded, "I have never heard that he's a racist? I definitely don't agree with racism, that's ignorant . . . I love all people and could care less if you like men or women. I have never heard that Ron Paul is a racist or homophobe?" Thus proving that one should never take seriously political endorsements by people who don't read a newspaper. * Party band LMFAO had to end a concert in Honduras early on Wednesday after a fire raged through the concert venue, Coliseo Nacional de Ingenieros, toward the end of the show. Member Redfoo tweeted, "Epic concert tonight!!!! Everybody in Honduras, we set the place on fire!!!!" No on was hurt but 15 people were treated for smoke inhalation. Honduran police think it's no accident and that arson might to be blame. Look, we get it. If we had to hear "Shots" one more time, we would resort to drastic actions ourselves. - Daily News wire services contributed to this report.
