Tues. Pa. boys' roundup: Olney stages late comeback

Down five points with just 40 seconds left in regulation, Olney rallied against its misfortune to top visiting Northeast, 68-66, on Tuesday afternoon in a Public League Division C basketball game.

Shaquior Cooper's layup with five seconds left gave the Trojans the win. Shakeem Stevens led Olney in the final frame with five points. Entering the fourth quarter, Olney trailed, 52-46.

Terrence Murray's 12 points were a team high. Keith Fletcher led Northeast with 17 points.

Richard Gaines grabbed seven rebounds, Malik Burbage dealt seven assists and Palmer cruised past visiting Parkway Northwest, 73-47.

Also in the Public League, senior forward Savon Goodman dropped in 43 points and senior point guard Daiquan Walker had 32 as Constitution rolled at Prep Charter, 101-63.

Goodman added 15 rebounds and now has 89 points over his last two games. Walker recorded 12 assists and nailed three threes.

In his first game of the season, Tyshon McBryde wasted no time to contribute as the senior forward finished with 26 points and a trio of three-pointers to help host Ben Franklin knock off Overbrook, 74-59. McBryde knocked down nine of his 10 foul shots and scored 11 points in both the second and third quarters.

Karon Keene and Ronald Nesmeth each poured in eight points in the fourth quarter as visiting Strawberry Mansion knocked off Del-Val Charter, 63-58. Keene finished with a game-high 17 points and the Knights trailed 38-35 entering the fourth.

Hakim Williams scored 14 of his game-high 27 points in the fourth quarter as Sayre pulled away at Bodine, 66-53.

Malik Paulk recorded four steals and Nafis Streeter grabbed 12 rebounds as Martin Luther King turned away visiting Mariana Bracetti, 69-34.

Ikeal Johnson's strong fourth quarter helped trigger Elverson's 41-36 win at GAMP. Johnson scored six of his game-high 11 points in the final period.

T.J. Scott came off the bench to score six points in the fourth quarter as Fels rallied to knock off visiting Germantown, 45-33. Tyree Westbrooks scored six of his eight points in the fourth.

Shahid Adams scored nine of 13 points in the first quarter as Freire Charter eased past FitzSimons, 66-42. The Dragons led, 22-8, after the opening quarter and Adams finished with eight rebounds and three steals.

Keenon Johnson and Aatif Clark both poured in six points in the opening quarter and New Media Charter rolled at Douglas, 69-57.
