Thurs. S.J. girls roundup: West Deptford rallies

Megan Kirschling capped her 22-point performance by stealing the ball and putting in the go-ahead layup with 15 seconds remaining, giving West Deptford a 37-35, come-from-behind win at Haddonfield on Thursday in Colonial Conference girls' basketball.

The Eagles, who improved to 3-1 in the Liberty Division, trailed by 20-12 at halftime.

In other Colonial Conference action:

Sara DeCinque found her shooting touch shortly after the opening tap, pouring in 10 of her 19 points in the first quarter as host Haddon Township outscored Woodbury, 26-5, over the first two quarters en route to a 50-24 victory. Kelly Roche and Sarah Getzinger controlled the boards for the Hawks, combining for 18 rebounds.

Tia Scott tossed in 26 points as Paulsboro put the game out of reach early in leveling host Lindenwold, 64-38. Andreya Lloyd and Alexsandria Matthews came through with 29 points, 21 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 assists for the Lions.

Ellie O'Neill shot 9 for 10 from the foul line in scoring 20 points, and Collingswood shook off a slow start in thumping host Overbrook, 43-27.

Tri-County. A matchup between Classic Division leaders turned out to be a one-sided affair, as host Gloucester ran out to a 30-3 first-half lead in doubling up Pitman, 54-27. Kathleen Velez (19 points) and Johanna James (10) supplied perimeter scoring for the Lions, while Madison McClintock battled inside for 10 rebounds and eight points.

Kayla Callaway had a game-high 14 points while Samantha Shockey and Cheyenne Clark teamed up to produce 25 points and 23 rebounds, as host Deptford rallied to defeat Woodstown, 52-45. Kayla Mayers (13 points) and Tori Smick (12) staked the Wolverines to an early, 12-7 advantage.

Dominique Hassinger hit three shots from beyond the arc in scoring 24 points for sixth-ranked Delsea, which seized control early en route in handing host Highland a 52-25 setback.

Olympic. Brittany Snow closed in on a milestone and combined with Taylor Watson (13 points) to key Seneca's fast start, as the eighth-ranked Golden Eagles soared, 61-50, over visiting Bishop Eustace. Snow totaled 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots - bringing the senior forward within nine of 1,000 career points.

Kelly Giedemann's 13 points paced Washington Township, which outscored host Eastern, 26-14, over the second and third quarters and then held on for a 42-38 road win. Jewel Wilson (15 points) led a late charge by the Vikings.
