Abused fans

That Eagles season-ticket-holders can defend Andy Reid after all this time is incredible ("Reid keeps job as Eagles coach," Wednesday). The only analogy that works for me here is the child with an abusive parent. The child keeps hoping the bad things won't happen again, but they happen again.

Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie's holding Reid up as a paragon of allegiance because he doesn't reveal anything negative about the players or coaches is hysterical. The reason Reid is not throwing anyone under the bus is that he's the only person who belongs there.

Jeff sees shadow

Story continues below.

So, Jeffrey Lurie, who shows himself about as often as Punxsutawney Phil, came out of his office, apparently saw his shadow, and announced that Andy Reid would once again be roaming the sidelines next season, continuing to ruin football here for so many.

Lurie must go

Phil Sheridan clearly exposes what many have suspected about the Eagles' malaise, such as the fuzzy thinking and bad decisions. Changing coaches will not do a bit of good as long as owner Jeffrey Lurie, and president Joe Banner for that matter, continue at the top of the ladder. We should change our chant to "Lurie must go!"

Arrogant Andy

Who does Arrogant Andy Reid have incriminating pictures of? How does Jeffrey Lurie explain Arrogant Andy's 13 years of rudeness to the fans and himself? I haven't been a fan for the last four or five years solely because of Arrogant Andy, and now it will be five or six years. Maybe the problem's not Arrogant Andy; maybe it's Lurie. How can we all see what Lurie refuses to see?

More of the same

That Andy Reid returns was a foregone conclusion. And while Michael Vick is exciting to watch and played hard all season, he's not even in the conversation when it comes to the elite quarterbacks in the NFL. So as Jeffrey Lurie and Joe Banner mix the Kool-Aid and Eagles fans with remarkably short memories turn the page to the 2012-13 season, we can all look forward to - wait for it - more of the same.

Radio jocks

I don't think the sports jocks are tired of Andy Reid. They just want someone new to kick around.
