Northern Burlington wrestlers beat Cinnaminson, 33-24

Wayne Stinson and Cody Melton helped Northern Burlington power through the upper weights and secure a 33-24 Burlington County League wrestling win over visiting Cinnaminson on Monday night.

Stinson (170 pounds) and Melton (285) had pins as the Greyhounds won five of six bouts from 160 to 285. Kevin Rafferty (160) and John Konopka (195) chipped in with shutout decisions.

Olympic. Cherokee won eight of nine bouts from 138 pounds to 285 and dominated visiting Washington Township, 48-14. A. J. Nicholas (152) and Zachary Cannon (160) had back-to-back first-minute pins.

Fawzan Lari's 16-0 technical fall at 152 pounds followed Peter Hoang's third-period pin at 145, helping Pennsauken claim a 56-20 win over visiting Bishop Eustace.

Tri-County. Deptford had six first-period pins, including a 31-second effort by Aaron Kolmetsky at 132 pounds, leading the Spartans to a 63-16 win at Gloucester Catholic.

Pennsville's Jacob Samuels (113) and John Ecret (138) each ran up 15-0 technical falls for Pennsville in a 51-13 win at Gloucester.

 

Boys' Basketball

Matt Bosch scored 15 points and blocked six shots as Ocean City edged host Lower Cape May, 43-41, in the Cape-Atlantic League National Conference. Chris Turner scored a game-high 18 points for the Red Raiders.

Also in the Cape-Atlantic, Middle Township survived a 52-50 thriller over visiting St. Augustine with help from Dorrell Shelton's 20 points.

Atlantic City knocked off host Egg Harbor Township, 66-46, as Keyshaun Reynbolds (14) and Kayshawn Dunston scored five points each in a 19-8 second-quarter run.

Olympic. Rodney Williams capped a 22-point, 7-assist game by making 9 of 10 free throws in the final period, wrapping up Cherry Hill West's 64-57 win over visiting Washington Township. Ryan Lee gave West 11 points and seven blocked shots.

Tri-County. Woodstown scored 17 of the game's first 20 points, including eight points by 6-foot-3 Chris Washington (24 points), and the Wolverines beat visiting Pennsville, 67-43.

Penn-Jersey. Chris Scott's foul shot with 55 seconds left ended the scoring in Doane Academy's 63-62 win over visiting International Christian.

Nonleague. Mike Schreiber made 3 of 4 fourth-quarter foul shots and helped Seneca rally for a 49-44 win at Pennsauken Tech.

 

Girls' Basketball

Madison McClintock scored 16 points and hauled in 14 rebounds for Gloucester, which built a 12-point halftime advantage en route to a 57-42 Tri-County Conference win over visiting GCIT.

Cape-Atlantic. Buena's 38-30 win at Cape May Tech featured Jasmine Miro's 17 points, 6 assists and 2 steals, and Julia DiBiase's 9 rebounds.

Penn-Jersey. Doane Academy's Elena Zangerle had a solid all-around game in a 51-18 win over visiting International Christian by collecting 7 points, 10 steals, 12 assists and 7 rebounds.

Nonleague. Jenna Hohenberger swatted away eight Camden County Tech shots, and Joann Bodanza (19) and Amanda Stein (10) combined for 21 second-half points as host Overbrook grabbed a 44-26 win.
