Shooting victims shows up at hospital, dies

Police are investigating the slaying of 23-year-old man who showed up at Temple University Hospital with a bullet wound to the stomach and died despite efforts to save him.

Investigators later determined that the shooting occurred about 11 p.m. at Germantown Avenue and Venango Street in North Philadelphia.

The victim, whose name has not been released yet, arrived at the hospital just blocks from the shooting scene in a private vehicle and died there at 1:34 a.m. today, police said.

No word yet on a possible motive or suspects.

Police in the meantime identified a man shot dead in Southwest Philadelphia on Monday as William Street, 32, who lived on the 3300 block of Spring Garden Street in West Philadelphia.

Street was shot during an argument about 12:55 p.m. on the 1500 block of South Lindenwood Street, police said.

No word yet on an arrest.
