Kevin Fahy has been named the boys' basketball coach at Gloucester for the remainder of the season.

Fahy replaces Kevin Hagan, who was suspended by the Board of Education on Tuesday night upon the recommendation of Superintendent Paul Spaventa.

Spaventa on Wednesday declined to disclose the reason for Hagan's suspension, citing confidentiality of personnel matters.

Fahy is a former baseball coach at Gloucester. The Lions basketball team is 4-4 entering Thursday night's home game against Schalick.
