Barack Obama? Mitt Romney? Rick Santorum?

"None!" the nation has cried out. The people's - our - choice is Katy Perry!

Perry won big at the 38th annual People's Choice Awards Wednesday night at the Nokia Theatre in Lalaland, sweeping up five awards, including favorite female artist. Seems the young singer's disastrous marriage to Russell Brand didn't hamper her chances.

Emma Stone and Johnny Depp won for fave actress and actor. In a moving tribute to a great career, Morgan Freeman, 74, received the favorite movie icon award.

Sinead O'Connor thanks her fans for helping her get through an anguished evening Wednesday night, during which the singer sent a series of distressing tweets asking for a referral to a psychiatrist near her home in Dublin.

O'Connor took to Twitter six days after she tried to commit suicide. "im really un-well ... and in danger," she tweeted. Fans came through, O'Connor tells USAToday.com. "People were great," she says. "I got a lot of e-mails and good numbers. I got a lot of help, and now it's all good." O'Connor last month broke up with therapist Barry Herridge after 18 days of marriage. She has indicated they are reuniting.

Rejection can bite anyone
