* Moderation is the key.
" 'Healthy' doesn't mean just eating wheat grass and alfalfa sprouts. It means moderation. It means balance. Life is all balance. The yin and the yang. Everything should be small portions all during the day. Keep your blood sugar [levels] even. You won't get hungry."
* Don't deprive yourself of the foods you love.
"You want a Tony Luke's . . . pork Italian [sandwich]? Cut it in half. Eat half now and put [the rest] in the refrigerator; heat it up and eat it later. Don't deprive yourself, but portion control is important."
* Tony's favorite snack:
Combine in a bowl: Blueberries, goji berries (which he described as tasting like "spicy raisins," raw pumpkin seeds, raw almonds, walnuts, one level teaspoon of cinnamon ("phenomenal" for maintaining healthy blood pressure), a quarter-cup of almond milk, two tablespoons of nonfat plain Greek yogurt, and one packet of Stevia (an organic sweetener). "I eat that every morning seven days a week."
