Tues. Pa. boys' roundup: FCS's Polykoff earns 100th victory

Head coach Jason Polykoff needed just five years to capture his 100th career win as Friends' Central inched past visiting Academy of the New Church, 58-55, on Tuesday in a Friends Schools League basketball game.

Senior forward Amile Jefferson grabbed 18 rebounds and scored nine of his season-high 31 points in the third quarter. Daniel Pittman led ANC with 18 points and a pair of threes.

Also in the Friends' Schools League, Connor Higgins' two threes propelled Shipley past host Germantown Friends, 76-34.

Del-Val. Rondae Jefferson dished out eight assists and dropped in 10 points as Chester turned away host Penn Wood, 69-43. Erikk Wright added 10 rebounds and a game-high 17 points.

Anthony Rappaselli knocked down one of two foul shots with 1.7 seconds left as Glen Mills topped host Interboro, 45-44.

Suburban One. Julian Hyden had 16 of his team-high 22 points in the first half to lead Bensalem past host Council Rock South, 57-52. Dovanta Newkirk added a highlight in the third quarter with a windmill dunk in transition.

Aaron Goodman grabbed 14 rebounds to accompany his 12 points as Council Rock North knocked off Neshaminy, 66-41. Aaron Morgan chipped in with four steals.

Tim Abruzzo converted each of his seven free throws in the fourth quarter as Pennridge rolled at Quakertown, 74-59. Abruzzo finished with a game-high 31 points.

Jordan Reed knocked down a pair of go-ahead free throws and then blocked a last second shot as Wissahickon dropped Cheltenham in OT, 64-63.

Zach Quattro knocked down four threes and Hatboro-Horsham had no trouble with visiting North Penn, 65-57.

Daiquan Ashley hit four of his five three-pointers as Truman slipped past visiting Abington, 68-65.Public. James Cole had missed his last four shots before he knocked down a three at the buzzer to send the game into overtime and Vaux knocked off host Simon Gratz, 60-58. Cole finished with 16 points.

Nafis Streeter scored all of his seven points in the third quarter as Martin Luther King pulled away at Mastery Charter North, 54-47.

David George's eight rebounds, four blocks, and 15 points helped lift Philadelphia Electrical over visiting Constitution, 58-56.

Sayre knocked down 26 foul shots en route to a 80-75 win at Lamberton. Ikeem Dickerson scored 11 of his game-high 33 points in the first quarter.

Raheem Liggins grabbed seven rebounds, dropped a game-high 18 points, and visiting Prep Charter inched past Communications Tech, 57-56.
