The Pennsylvania Supreme Court will broadcast its proceedings live for the first time on Jan. 23.
The seven-member high court on Wednesday announced it had agreed to a request by the Pennsylvania Cable Network to air appeals to the newly redrawn state legislative districts on Jan. 23.
Last year the court decided to allow PCN to record hearings for future broadcast. This is the first time oral arguments before the Supreme Court will be broadcast live.
Eleven appeals contesting the constitutionality of the Republican-crafted maps for 203 House districts and 50 Senate districts are pending before the court. The maps are not considered final until the Supreme Court affirms them. - Amy Worden
