Thurs. S.J. boys' roundup: C.H. East edges Camden

Marc Schlessel was fouled on an offensive rebound and sank both ends of a 1-and-1 free-throw opportunity with 10.2 seconds remaining, cementing Cherry Hill East's 56-52 win at Camden on Thursday in an Olympic Conference interdivision boys' basketball thriller.

Schlessel scored a game-high 29 points, including all 12 of the Cougars' points in the fourth quarter. Thomas Harper (17 points) and Tavaris Headen (16) led the Panthers' late rally.

In another Olympic clash, Dominique Reid (28 points, 25 rebounds) and Dajuan Drennon (23 points, 20 rebounds) ruled the boards for host Timber Creek's 74-62 triumph over Woodrow Wilson.

Burlington County. Ronny Paden (21 points) and Rashoun Houston (19) accounted for 21 points in a 34-13 third-quarter blitz, sending fourth-ranked Willingboro to a 90-53 rout of Delran.

Bazil Jackson's double-double (19 points, 11 rebounds) paced seventh-ranked Westampton Tech past visiting Pemberton, 57-42.

Tim Kemmerle set a career high with 30 points, including six baskets from beyond the arc in a 23-point first half, and Dan Haddon added 20 to help host Cinnaminson outscore Bordentown, 81-75. Mike Jacobs fueled the Scotties' 31-21 fourth-quarter surge with 14 of his 34 points.

Medford Tech's Kennedy Chukwuocha fired in 34 points in a 71-62 home win over Northern Burlington.

Colonial. Julien Davenport led the way with 20 points, including 16 in a 34-20 surge over the second and third quarters, as ninth-ranked Paulsboro prevailed, 70-39, at Audubon.

Tri-County. Cedric Elleby picked up 10 of his 25 points in the first quarter as Delsea ran out to a 12-point lead, and then the Crusaders withstood a late charge by Deptford's Daron Curry (19 points) and Nick Lawson (18) to hold on for a 61-57 road win.

Wes Hills (15 points) connected on two free throws with five seconds to go, lifting Wildwood over host Schalick, 54-52.

Stefano Okoro's 20 points enabled host Gloucester to steadily pull away from Glassboro, 41-29.

Cape-Atlantic. Richie Sandoval's buzzer-beating jumper gave Absegami a wild, 66-64 win at St. Joseph. Lamar Monroe made five three-pointers in scoring a game-high 25 for the Braves. Palmer Reap (21 points) and Andrew Ordille (20) led St. Joseph, which took the lead on Tyler D'Amelio's trey with 10 seconds left.

Mike Greenman tossed in 17 points, Blake Russell and Austin Johnson combined for 22 points and 18 rebounds, and fifth-ranked St. Augustine took command from the start en route to a 66-44 home win over Oakcrest.

Larry Jones and Paul Moore had 14 points apiece for eighth-ranked Holy Spirit, which converted 15 of 18 from the foul line in the fourth quarter to close out a 50-42 triumph at Egg Harbor Township.

Trayvond Barbary put up 23 points and 16 rebounds for host Buena in a 67-42 loss to Pleasantville. The Greyhounds were paced by Shawn Wilson (20 points) and Mike Black (18).

Nonleague. Zach Smick's three-pointer at the final buzzer capped Woodstown's come-from-behind 67-64 win over visiting Pennsauken Tech. Chris Washington led the Wolverines with 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Smick (14 points) and Asher Kaithern (13) teamed up to offset a 27-point outing by Tech's Brandon Rembert.
