Fri. Pa. girls' roundup: Carroll tops Wood

After a silent first half, Olivia DeRogatis poured in all 10 of her points after halftime on Friday night as host Archbishop Carroll knocked off Catholic League basketball foe Archbishop Wood, 48-41.

Megan Creighton grabbed six rebounds and added 16 points for the Patriots, who are ranked No. 1 in Southeastern Pa. by The Inquirer. The loss is Archbishop Wood's first in league play as the Vikings fell to 6-7 overall, 4-1 in league. Carroll improved to 10-2, 3-1.

Also in the Catholic League, Kerry Anne Farrell recorded five steals as Archbishop Prendergast shut down visiting West Catholic, 38-6.

Biff Jones scored eight of her 10 points in the first quarter as St. Hubert easily turned away visiting Little Flower, 63-23. The Bambies led by 22-3 after the first quarter.

Central. Shannon Quinn scored seven of her 13 points in the fourth quarter to help Radnor prevail at Harriton, 48-43.

The Red Raiders entered the fourth quarter clinging to a one-point lead before Quinn provided a little cushion.

Myonie Williamson dropped in a team-high 16 for Radnor, while Sabrina Tabasso had 18 for Harriton.

Also in the Central League, Madison Collins scored six of her nine points in the first quarter and Marple Newtown sprinted past host Springfield (Delco), 39-31. The Tigers led by 16-4 after the opening quarter.

Public. Deanna Cross hit the second of her two foul shots with 3 seconds left to lift New Media Charter at Swenson, 54-53. Bridget Giedemann led Swenson with 26 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 steals.

Dolores Smith forced a steal and found Capri Caple for an uncontested layup with 40 seconds left as Olney topped host Frankford, 29-28. Smith, a junior forward, finished with 13 rebounds.

Prep Charter won its seventh-straight league game, as the Huskies trounced host Mariana Bracetti, 58-16. In the seven wins, Prep Charter has outscored its opponents by an average of 42.57 points per game.

Dayona McNeil knocked down a school-record seven three-pointers en route to 35 points as Science Leadership rolled over visiting Parkway West, 47-35. McNeil's points were also a school record, passing her previous mark of 35.

Senior guard Dianna Wagner scored seven of her nine points in the first half as host Mastbaum downed Ben Franklin, 45-32.

Brianna Jenkins grabbed eight rebounds, blocked two shots, and dropped a game-high 17 points as Simon Gratz downed visiting Franklin Learning Center, 38-33.
