Scerbo's teams also went 4-2 in Thanksgiving Day games against crosstown rival Cherry Hill East.
"I think the program is in good, stable shape," Scerbo said. "We were able to compete against most teams in the West Jersey Football League. The conference is tough, but I'm proud of how the kids competed.
"This was a great opportunity for me to coach here. I had great support."
The Lions went 2-8 last season, but one of the victories was a 38-35 upset of South Jersey Group 3 power Moorestown.
Cherry Hill West athletic director Lou Papa said he hopes to begin soon the process of interviewing candidates for the position.
A top candidate could be Rocky Hager, who won two NCAA Division II national titles as head coach at North Dakota State and also was a head coach at Northeastern until that school dropped its program after the 2009 season. Hager was an assistant on Scerbo's staff last season.
