"He had a stellar year," Cherry Hill East coach Tom Coen said. "He's going to do really well at Bucknell. It's a great opportunity for him both athletically and academically."
Bucknell is an FCS (formerly Division I-AA) program that competes in the Patriot League. Regan said he also visited Penn, Delaware, and Monmouth.
Another Cherry Hill East senior, linebacker Matt Satchell, has narrowed his choices to Georgetown and Colgate, according to Coen.
Finelli to Colgate. Rancocas Valley quarterback Dylan Finelli has committed to Colgate.
Finelli passed for 1,149 yards and 11 touchdowns in leading Rancocas Valley to a 7-3 record and a berth in the South Jersey Group 4 tournament.
"They love him as a quarterback," Rancocas Valley coach Dan Haussman said. "They are a pocket-quarterback team. He has great skills. He's just a little wet behind the ears."
Another Rancocas Valley player, defensive lineman Dom Twitty, has committed to New Mexico. Twitty originally had committed to Minnesota.
Twitty made an official visit to New Mexico last weekend and visited with new coach Bob Davie, the former head coach at Notre Dame. Davie was hired by New Mexico in November.
"It's a better situation for Dom," Haussman said. "Bob Davie is going to turn that program around."
Cape schedule. The Cape-Atlantic League has formed a five-man committee to realign the league for football and set the football schedule for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
Mainland athletic director Mike Gatley, president of the Cape, said the committee would have the right under league rules to create an alignment and schedule that member schools must accept.
The Cape-Atlantic has struggled with football scheduling in part because some of its smaller public schools are reluctant to play the league's non-public schools, especially state powers St. Joseph and Holy Spirit.
In addition, football scheduling is believed to be a factor in Hammonton's decision to apply to the Tri-County Conference for membership starting in September 2014.
By then, the Cape-Atlantic could be merged with the West Jersey Football League. Gatley said Cape-Atlantic officials planned to meet with WJFL officials this spring to discuss a possible merger for the 2014-15 scheduling cycle.
