Powerball tops $100M cash, Montco ticket wins $330K

The Powerball jackpot is up to $170 million because no one won - but someone hit for $330,000 in Montgomery County.

A winning Cash 5 ticket for Friday's drawing was sold at Coles Tobacco on High Street in Pottstown. All five numbers were matched: 14, 23, 25, 33 and 43.

People keep pumping money into Powerball despite those $2 tickets. If it rolls over again, expect the annuity prize to easily top $200 million.

Story continues below.

In cash, Wednesday's jackpot will be worth an estimated $106.3 million.

Three players won $1 million each for matching the first five numbers - 5, 33, 41, 54 and 59 - but not the Powerball of 13. They were sold in New York, Kentucky and Missouri.

Nobody won $2 million for matching five while having the Power Play option.

Powerball raised its tickets to $2 on Jan. 15.

Mega Millions, the $1 multistate lottery game, also rose, but only to $15 million for Tuesday's drawing. Eight tickets matched the first five numbers - 3, 5, 30, 36 and 48 - but not the Mega Ball of 23. California sold four such tickets, while New York, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Texas each sold one.

Second prize is usually $250,000, but that can get boosted to $1 million if a player also has the Megaplier multiplier option.

The California winners got $45,800 each under that state's pari-mutuel system.

Powerball and Mega Millions are both played in 41 states, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.
