Authorities in Montgomery County have rereleased information surrounding the case of Mary Pellegrino, an 86-year-old woman who was found dead in her Lower Moreland Township home more than two years ago.

Investigators hope that bringing the case back before the public will help them develop new leads.

"We're reexamining the case, and part of that reexamination is putting that information back out there," said Lt. Kevin Dillon, a police spokesperson.

Pellegrino's body was discovered on Jan. 3, 2010, by a handyman who worked regularly at her Red Lion house. A coroner's report confirmed initial investigations that she died from blunt-force trauma to the head.

Story continues below.

Investigators say Pellegrino may have been dead for several days before being discovered.

Pellegrino, who had lived alone in her home since the death of her husband in 2005, often hired people to work on projects around the house.

"It was a murder mystery when it started, and it's no less mysterious today," said Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman. "It does not feel as though we're any closer to solving it."

The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office is looking for any information regarding the case and urges anyone who may have worked for her to contact the Lower Moreland Township Police at 215-947-3132.
