A Gloucester County man was sentenced in federal court Friday to 20 years in prison and a lifetime of supervised release after he pleaded guilty to advertising and sharing child pornography on the Internet.

Robert J. Paratore, 47, of East Greenwich, is still under investigation for eight victims he sexually assaulted, and is cooperating with police, according to a statement from the office of the U.S. Attorney District of New Jersey.

Paratore was the chief financial officer of Akers Biosciences, Inc., a company that makes rapid diagnostic tests for the health care industry and is headquartered in Thorofare. He used his work computer, beginning as early as May 2009, to download child pornography files, then advertised the porn and shared it with others through peer-to-peer networks, prosecutors said.

In addition to prison time, he is also required to register as a sex offender.
