"The first thing I've got to do is listen and learn," Tressel said. "I'm just on the team."
The NCAA has banned Tressel from having any direct involvement with a school's athletic department, one of the conditions of the five-year sanction he was given following the Ohio State mess.
Former Clemson receiver Joe Craig was arrested on a charge of criminal domestic violence and later dismissed from the football team. Craig allegedly shoved his girlfriend, Whitney Fountain, early Sunday morning at his apartment, beginning an altercation between the two. She also was arrested for criminal domestic violence.
John Gouch, a university spokesman, said the two were arrested Wednesday. Coach Dabo Swinney kicked Craig off the team hours later, announcing the move in a news release that did not detail what the redshirt freshman wideout had done.
Louisiana Tech running back Tyronne Duplessis, 21, was found dead at his off-campus apartment. Hazel Woods, the chief investigator for the Lincoln Parish Coroner's Office, said the cause of death was unknown pending an autopsy.
HONORS: Former La Salle basketball standout Kelly Greenberg will be inducted into the Big Five's Class of 2012 Hall of Fame. The two-time all-Big Five selection, now the head women's basketball coach at Boston University, helped the Explorers to three Big Five Championships and NCAA tournament appearances in 1985-89.
Also selected to the Hall of Fame was Temple's Marc Jackson, the 1997 Atlantic Ten player of the year, and a two-time all-A-10 and all-Big Five first-team honoree before leaving the Owls after his junior year to join the NBA.
Other members of the Class of 2012 Big Five Hall of Fame Class are Penn's Matt Maloney, St. Joseph's Melissa Coursey, and Villanova's Jenn Beisel.
