Sideshow: Blue Ivy's folks seek to trademark name

Jay-Z and Beyoncé are showing their extraordinary love for new bairn Blue Ivy Carter by trademarking her name.

The Washington Post says the couple's application to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states they want to use the moniker for a line of - no doubt groovy - baby carriages, baby cosmetics, diaper bags, and so forth.

It's like my mom used to say: "Nothing says 'I love you' more than an aggressive marketing campaign."

 

Robin Gibb recovers

Robin Gibb, 62, says he's doing well after undergoing surgery to remove a growth in his colon. "I've been treated . . . by a brilliant doctor, and in their own words, 'the results have been spectacular,' " the Bee Gees veteran tells BBC Radio 2, "and I feel fantastic."

Steven Tyler's defense

Aerosmith lipman Steven Tyler has responded to critics who denounced his freakish rendition of the national anthem two weeks ago at the AFC Championship football game.

"I put emphasis on 'In the land of the free,' and I went up," says Tyler. "I hit the note, so I don't know what they are talking about. I emphasized 'free,' which was for freedom." It was well thought out prior to. I wasn't messing with American tradition."

  

Locating Demi Moore

Fierce speculation continues about Demi Moore's state of being - and her location - since her hospitalization.

RadarOnline says the Striptease star is chillin' at home, where she is seeking "spiritual solace during face-to-face meetings" with estranged hub Ashton Kutcher .

Gossip TV show Extra says Demi is seeking treatment at the exclusive rehab-for-the-rich Cirque Lodge in Sundance, Utah, which previously has treated Lindsay Lohan, Melanie Griffith, Eva Mendes, and Mary Kate Olsen.

Meanwhile, E!News says rumors this week that Demi, 49, is determined to mate with Zac Efron, 24, are untrue. They don't even know each other!

Rosanne Barr says she's entering the presidential campaign to show how "the Democrats and Republicans . . . are servants - bought and paid for by the 1 percent [the super-rich]." . . .
