Timber Creek's Greg Webb has accepted an offer to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas, next January, according to Chargers coach Rob Hinson.

Webb will join Eastern's Eli Woodard as South Jersey's representatives at perhaps the most prestigious of the postseason high school all-star games.

Webb, a defensive tackle who helped Timber Creek to a 12-0 record and the South Jersey Group 3 title in the fall, has the interest of more than 20 colleges, according to Hinson. Colleges can't make official offers until Sept. 1 of a prospect's senior year.

Defending national champion Alabama made an unofficial offer to Webb this week, according to Hinson, who said he spoke with Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban.

Other top schools that have shown interest include Tennessee, Michigan, Penn State and Rutgers.

Woodard, a cornerback, also has an offer from Alabama but is leaning toward Ohio State, according to Eastern coach Dan Spittal. Woodard said he considers Notre Dame and Rutgers to be among his top three choices.

Rutgers push. Rutgers signed just one South Jersey player this season - Timber Creek linebacker Quanzell Lambert - but the Scarlet Knights are expected to make a strong play for several local athletes in the Class of 2013.

In addition to Webb and Woodard, Rutgers likely will make strong recruiting pushes for Timber Creek defensive ends Dajaun Drennon and Myles Nash as well as Absegami quarterback Rashad Kinlaw, Williamstown linebacker Buddy Brown, Glassboro running back Corey Clement, Paul VI linebacker Greg Pease, and Shawnee two-way lineman Zach Smekal, among others.

Asked if he was going to be an unofficial recruiter of South Jersey players for Rutgers, Lambert said, "You know it."

Satchell to Georgetown. Cherry Hill East linebacker Matt Satchell has signed with Georgetown, a FCS (formerly Division I-AA) program that competes in the Patriot League.

Satchell was a defensive standout for a Cherry Hill East team that went 7-3 this season.

Clement to Kansas State. Former Deptford standout Ellwood Clement signed Wednesday with Kansas State.

The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Clement was an offensive lineman the last two seasons for Eastern Arizona, a junior college program. He helped the Gila Monsters to an 8-4 record last season.
