College Basketball: Miami gets 1st win at Duke behind Johnson

Reggie Johnson scored five of his career-high 27 points in overtime and Miami upset No. 7 Duke, 78-74, in Durham, N.C., on Sunday.

Kenny Kadji added 15 points for the Hurricanes (14-7, 5-3 Atlantic Coast Conference), who blew a 16-point lead in the second half, then regrouped to claim their first victory at Cameron Indoor Stadium and just their second win over Duke since joining the ACC.

Seth Curry scored 22 points and freshman Austin Rivers added 20 for the Blue Devils (19-4, 6-2), who missed all six of their free throws in overtime.

Rivers and Ryan Kelly missed threes in the final seconds for Duke and Johnson added a free throw with one-tenth of a second remaining.

Johnson had 12 rebounds. Durand Scott added 11 points on 3-of-12 shooting for the Hurricanes, who had a chance to win it in regulation but couldn't get a shot off before the buzzer.

Michigan State 64, Michigan 54 - In East Lansing, Mich., Draymond Green had 14 points and 16 rebounds as the No. 9 Spartans (18-5, 7-3 Big Ten) ended a three-game skid in the rivalry and moved into sole possession of second place in the conference behind third-ranked Ohio State.

The Wolverines' Tim Hardaway Jr. missed his first six shots in the game and had a season-low four points on 1-of-10 shooting as Michigan fell to 17-7, 7-4.

West Virginia 87, Providence 84 - Darryl Bryant's three-pointer with a second left in overtime gave the Mountaineers (16-8, 6-5 Big East) the win at Providence (13-11, 2-9).

Bryant scored 32 points, and Deniz Kilicli added a career-high 22. Gerard Coleman scored 30 for the Friars.
