Which makes you wonder: How did this hockey puck get a job that required him to drive any type of vehicle?
* The following exchange happened at Saturday night's NFL Awards show in Indianapolis: Host Alec Baldwin, sitting next to former NFL star Archie Manning, asked, "Peyton or Eli?"
Without hesitation, Manning replied, "Alec or Billy?"
Touchè!
* Congratulations to Matt Ventre and Gina Too, the first male and female runners from Philadelphia to finish in Saturday's Krispy Kreme Challenge in Raleigh, N.C.
Ventre finished the nearly 5-mile course in 792nd place in a time of 52 minutes, 23 seconds. Too finished 2,826th in 1:21:47.
Before you chide them for being a tad slow, consider that at the halfway point - a Krispy Kreme shop - competitors had to wolf down a dozen donuts before finishing the second half of the race.
Let Wing Bowl champ Takeru Kobayashi try that!
All proceeds from the race are donated to the North Carolina Children's Hospital.
Which begs the question: Why doesn't Philly have something like this?
We could see it now: At the halfway point, competitors could scarf down a Pat's or Geno's cheesesteak wid, some Chickie's & Pete's Crab Fries, a pack of Tastykake Kandy Kakes, and some Goldenberg's Peanut Chews. All washed down with Frank's Black Cherry Wishniak.
