Combine invites: 7 from Penn State, 3 from Temple

Seven player from Penn State and three from Temple were on the official list of invitations that was released yesterday for the NFL Scouting Combine.

The Nittany Lions are cornerback Chaz Powell, defensive tackle Devon Still, defensive end Jack Crawford, cornerback D'Anton Lynn, wide receiver Derek Moye, linebacker Nate Stupar and guard Johnnie Troutman.

The Owls are running back Bernard Pierce, tight end Evan Rodgriguez, linebacker Tahir Whitehead.

Still, the All-American from Wilmington, is expected to be a first-round pick. He missed the Senior Bowl with a toe injury.

The seven players from one school is among the top 5 nationally, according to a Penn State spokesman. The Nittany Lions are second in the Big Ten.

The combine is Feb. 22-28 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. In all, more than 300 players were invited.

Players who didn't receive invites to the Indy Combine can participate in a series of NFL Regional Combines over the next month. Reults are available to all 32 teams, with the top players earning invitations to a Super Regional Combine in Detroit on March 30-31.
