Brett Truskin, the Bucks County man arrested in November for allegedly running over a Kensington bicyclist while high on drugs, waived his right to a preliminary hearing today.

Truskin, 22, will be formally arraigned Feb. 28 on vehicular homicide, involuntary manslaughter, DUI and multiple related counts stemming from the Nov. 18 crash that killed Gregory Loper, 49, on Lehigh Avenue near Jasper Street.

Truskin, who was behind the wheel of a 2011 Toyota RAV4, ran into Loper head on, then to hit four parked cars and one car occupied by another motorist, who suffered minor injuries, authorities have said.

Hours before the fatal crash, Truskin had been arrested for another DUI crash he caused on 1-95, police said.

A judge released him on his own recognizance in that case.

Court records indicate that Truskin has remained jailed on $500,000 bail since his last arrest.

The records show that he is scheduled to be tried Feb. 8 for the three-car crash he was arrested for the day before he allegedly ran down Loper.
