Cops seek help in solving Overbrook slaying

Police are seeking the public's help in tracking down the man who executed a 24-year-old man on an Overbrook street Monday afternoon.

The victim, Dennis Gore Jr., was walking with his girlfriend on 55th Street near Hunter when he was approached by a gunman who fired five bullets into his body at point-blank range. The gunman fled without saying a word.

A $20,000 reward is being offered to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect in the case.

Police described the gunman as a thin black man, 5 feet 7, with a goatee. He wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black Nike sneakers and a black hat, and was armed with a silver revolver.
