Tues. Pa. boys' roundup: Chester remains unbeaten

With ease, Chester remained undefeated on Tuesday as it rocked host Chichester, 91-53, to capture the Del-Val League boys' basketball title.

Darius Robinson scored all 13 of his points in the first quarter as the Clippers sprinted off to a 27-7 lead after the opening quarter.

Chester improved to 22-0 overall, 9-0 in league and the Clippers are riding a 46-game winning streak. They are ranked No. 4 in the nation by USA Today.

Also in the Del-Val, senior center Charles Dorsey poured in 15 of his team-high 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Academy Park topped Interboro, 52-44.

Suburban One. Tim Abruzzo became Pennridge's all-time leading scorer and the visiting Rams captured the Suburban One Continental conference with a 65-58 OT win at Pennridge. Abruzzo finished with 19 points and now has 1,130 points which eclipsed class of 1988 Jim Groff's 1,118.

Mike Mintah grabbed 10 rebounds to key host Truman's 64-62 win over Neshaminy. Merdic Green and Daiquan Ashley helped seal the win by sinking a combined six free throws in the fourth quarter.

Junior point guard Kevin Raymond scored seven of his team-high 10 points in the third quarter as Central Bucks South knocked off Hatboro-Horsham, 44-41.

Jon Landis converted a three-point play with 5 seconds left to lift Quakertown over visiting Central Bucks East, 52-49. Corey Jorgensen led the Panthers with a game-high 23 points and three three-pointers.

Julian Hyden sank a layup at the buzzer and Bensalem escaped from Council Rock North with a 43-42 win. Davonta Newkirk led the Owls with a game-high 13 points.

Brandon Johnson grabbed 12 rebounds and Anthony McKie dropped in 18 points as Plymouth Whitemarsh topped visiting Upper Merion, 67-57.

Senior center Tanoh Kpassagnon scored a career-high 24 points and tacked on a pair of dunks to help host Wissahickon down Upper Dublin, 66-44. He also added 11 rebounds and three blocks.

Pioneer. Antonio Moore grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Pottstown over Pottsgrove, 51-37, at Spring-Ford in the Frontier division's second place tiebreaker.

With the win, the Trojans earn a spot in the league's Final Four tournament. Elijhah Jackson chipped in with 15 points, five steals, and three assists.
