A 17-year-old boy was in critical condition after being shot in the face Thursday evening in the city's Kingsessing section, police said.
The shooting occurred at 6:31 p.m. in the area of 54th Street and Chester Avenue. Police rushed the teen, who was shot in the nose area, to Mercy Philadelphia Hospital, where he was transported to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
A possible suspect was in custody, police said.
