Fri. S.J. boys' roundup: Haddonfield coasts in pool

Will Manion won two individual events and led off the winning effort in the 200-yard freestyle relay, highlighting top-seeded Haddonfield's 113-57 victory over No. 8 seed Woodstown in Friday's South Jersey Public B swimming quarterfinal at GCIT.

Manion took first in the 200 free in 1 minute, 47.81 seconds, and won the 100 free in :47.84.

In a quarterfinal at Burlington County College, second-seeded Moorestown swept all 11 events to dismiss No. 7 seed Cumberland, 132.5-37.5.

J.D. Schurer (200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke) and Zach Fong (200 individual medley, 500 freestyle) were the Quakers' double winners.

South Jersey Public A. Bryan Mattingly won the 50 and 100 free, and Alex Mesisca prevailed in the 200 IM and 500 free to key third-seeded Shawnee's 108-62 triumph over No. 6 seed Southern Regional.

Basketball

Josh Smith buried a three-pointer from the corner to beat the final buzzer and complete host Glassboro's 58-55 come-from-behind win over Camden Academy Charter.

Jihad Corbin had 16 points to lead the Bulldogs in the nonleague game, while Josh Smith was joined by Tony Hairston, Juwan Johnson and Sam Smith with 10 apiece.

Dave Budd scored all of his 11 points in a 24-12 second-quarter blitz, and Donte Vaughan (19 points) made 8 of 9 free throws down the stretch to lift host Triton over Washington Township, 75-69.

The Mustangs placed five scorers in double figures - including Dylan Daniluk (16), Brian Keller (15) and Isaiah Baylor (11) - to offset a 23-point effort by Washington Township's Marquise McCormick.

Marcus Taylor and Jerry Cismond combined for 28 points and Sterling used a 34-20 spurt over the second and third quarters to pull out a 60-51 victory at Pemberton.

Brandon Rembert poured in 33 points and Stacy Thomas netted 18 for host Pennsauken Tech, which seized control early in crushing Camden County Tech, 82-56.

James Bullock's 23 points paced Overbrook to a 71-44 home rout of Cumberland.

Ice Hockey

Senior forward Derrick Jester scored twice to lead Bishop Eustace past St. Peter's Prep, 4-1, at the Pennsauken Skate Zone.

David Wacker and Nick Swider took turns in net for the Crusaders, combining for 22 saves.
