Sources: Temple to add another offensive assistant

On national signing day, when asked about his vacant offensive coordinator position, Temple football coach Steve Addazio said he was looking to bring someone in who could work with the quarterbacks. He wasn't lying.

Sources have confirmed an OwlScoop report that former Boston College offensive coordinator Kevin Rogers will be joining the Owls staff. He'd spent the previous five seasons as the QB coach with the Minnesota Vikings, where he worked with Brett Favre.

Rogers has been in the profession for more than three decades, most of them at the collegiate level. That includes an 8-year stint at Syracuse, where he coached Donovan McNabb.

Story continues below.

Former BC wide receivers coach Ryan Day, a former Temple assistant in Al Golden's first season (2005), is also coming back to North Broad Street to be the co-OC with Matt Rhule, one of two holdover's from Al Golden's staff. Rhule was the OC from 2008 to '10, and last season coached the tight ends and was the recruiting coordinator as the Owls brought in one what is believed to be of their top classes.
