Haddonfield girls top Moorestown in swimming semis

Laura Lincoln anchored two winning relay teams and was one of six Haddonfield swimmers to win one individual event each in the Bulldogs' 118-52 victory over visiting Moorestown in Monday's semifinals of the South Jersey Public B girls' team playoffs.

Lincoln anchored the 200-yard medley and 200 freestyle relay quartets, and took first place in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5 minutes, 38.81 seconds.

S.J. Public A girls. Mainland won just five of 10 events but used its depth to get past Cape-Atlantic League rival Vineland, 90-80, in their semifinal.

Morgan Walls (50 freestyle) and Sydney Boswell (100 butterfly) each won an event and joined teammates Samantha Boswell and Katie Adams on the winning 200 freestyle relay.

S.J. Public A boys. Cherry Hill East advanced to the sectional finals via a 95-75 win over visiting Egg Harbor Township.

Versatile Alex Dintino won the 100 butterfly in 54.65 and the 100 backstroke in 56.36, and also swam on East's winning 200 medley relay team.

S.J. Public B boys. Ryan Richards and Will Manion won two events each, and Manion started Haddonfield's 104-66 semifinal win over visiting Oakcrest by leading off the winning 200 medley relay team.

Manion clocked 2:01.11 in the 200 individual medley and 54.08 in the 100 backstroke, and Richards won the 200 freestyle in 1:52.66 and 500 freestyle in 4:59.98.

Moorestown will be Haddonfield's opponent in the finals after whipping visiting Central Regional, 118-52. The Quakers won all but one event, including Brian Wardzinski's first-place efforts in the 200 and 500 freestyles.

Boys' Basketball

Felipe Rocha topped four Life Center players in double figures with 17 points during a 77-29 nonleague rout of visiting Valley Forge Military Academy. The Warriors' Carlton Whitehead had 8 assists and 2 steals.

Stephen Dwyer hit a trio of three-point baskets in the first quarter as Moorestown Friends held off host Camden Academy Charter, 50-47.

Gateway's Joe Palmer scored 25 points with a pair of three-pointers and hauled in 11 rebounds as the Gators upended visiting Buena, 51-41.

Burlington County. Medford Tech followed Kennedy Chukwuocha's 29 points, including 21 by intermission, to a 60-53 success at Moorestown.

New Egypt spotted host Palmyra a one-point halftime edge before rallying to win, 47-38. Sheldon Stephens had 12 points for the Warriors, matching Palmyra's Moral Best for game top-scoring honors.

Tri-County. Steve Logan (17 points) hit half of Salem's eight three-pointers in a 71-26 win at Pennsville.

Girls' Basketball

Down by one point after three quarters, Pitman got nine fourth-period points from Karlie Crispin and overtook host Schalick, 47-42, in the Tri-County Conference. Crispin finished with 20 points and Beth Patrick scored 13.

Cumberland followed Lauren Whelan's 20 points to a 38-34 success against visiting Kingsway.

Olympic. Lenape's Brianna Wylie capped a 14-point game by making two foul shots with 5 seconds left to boost the visiting Indians past Paul VI, 44-42.

Burlington County. Sherron Howard, a 5-foot-9 forward, grabbed 11 rebounds to go with a team-high 14 points as Cinnaminson dealt visiting Burlington Township a 53-39 setback.

Tri-County. Nine rebounds each by Kayla Chapman (11 points) and Tiasia Tatem aided Salem's 48-17 win over visiting Pennsville.

Nonleague. Northern Burlington's Rachel Dortch (18 points), Shelby Dolan (13), and Marissa Rivera (12) offset a 22-point game by Southern Regional's Allison Spaschak and gave the host Greyhounds a 61-42 win.
