Tues. S.J. boys' roundup: Winslow Twp. holds off Triton

Isaac Merriel scored 23, including Winslow Township's final six points in double overtime, allowing the Eagles to escape with an 82-77 win at Triton on Tuesday in an Olympic Conference boys' basketball thriller.

Triton's Brian Keller (20 points) tied it on a three-point play with 30 seconds left in regulation, and Adonius Melvins (10) sank a pair of free throws to pull Township even at the end of the first overtime.

In other Olympic action:

Fifth-ranked Eastern needed clutch scoring from Melvin Ford (13 points) in the fourth quarter to finish off visiting Lenape, 55-50. Tabu Gaither scored 18 for the Indians.

A free throw by Amir Maddred (15 points) with :18 remaining in the fourth quarter enabled Camden to hold off host Camden Catholic, 47-46.

Third-ranked Bishop Eustace wasted little time in taking control at Woodrow Wilson, as Sho DaSilva (23 points) led five Crusaders scorers in double figures and an 86-66 rout. Jerome Walters countered with 23 points for the Tigers.

Tri-County. Zak Barrett reached the 1,000-point mark and Wildwood claimed a share of the Classic Division title with a 66-48 victory at Pennsville.

Barrett (19 points, 9 rebounds), Francis Christian (17 points, 7 assists) and Wes Hills (14 points) supplied the bulk of the scoring for the Warriors, who finished in a first-place tie with Pitman.

Kali Boyce capped his 16-point performance by sinking a pair of free throws with 2 seconds left, making Williamstown a 54-52 winner at Deptford. The Spartans' Nick Lawson led all scorers with 23 points.

Kyle McCulley (14 points), Cedric Elleby (13) and Ryan Colone (12) led Delsea's long-range assault, as the Crusaders drained 10 shots from beyond the arc in burying host Gloucester Catholic, 57-32.

Colonial. Xavier Lundy (24 points) and Julien Davenport (12) combined for a dozen points in a 24-14 third-quarter spree, as sixth-ranked Paulsboro pulled away to a 69-52 win at Overbrook.

Chris Michael had 20 points, including the go-ahead layup with :38 to go in regulation, helping host Collingswood nip Gateway, 58-57. The Panthers have beaten the Gators 23 consecutive times, dating to 1999.

Jeray Demby caught fire in the fourth quarter, scoring 15 of his 17 points in a 19-9 game-ending run that sealed Woodbury's 61-48 home win over Haddon Heights.

Burlington County. Elijah Cain's 18 points led ninth-ranked Medford Tech, which used a strong second half to pull away from host Northern Burlington, 55-43.

Tim Kemmerle nailed six three-point baskets in scoring 22, highlighting Cinnaminson's 72-60 win at Bordentown. Antonio Gilmore and Mike Jacobs had 20 points apiece for the Scotties.

Nonleague. Dan Richards (24 points) tied the game with a pair of free throws late in regulation, and Stephen Dwyer (21) scored 7 in overtime - including the go-ahead foul shot - to help Moorestown Friends outlast host King's Christian, 55-53.
