Tues. Pa. girls' roundup: Downingtown West takes Ches-Mont

Downingtown West got off to a fast start and claimed its first Ches-Mont League basketball championship in nine years with a 43-36 win over rival Downingtown East on Tuesday night.

Brittany Sicinski tossed in a game-high 19 points, and Allison Shaw added 9 points and a dozen rebounds for West (22-2), which swept its three meetings with the Cougars (15-9) this winter.

Noelle Alicea scored 13 points to lead East, which fell behind by 23-11 at halftime and 33-17 entering the final period.

Tri-County. Anna Janisch set a school record for points in a single game and pushed her career total over 1,500 points, highlighting Kimberton Waldorf's 49-35 victory over visiting Barrack Hebrew in the semifinals of the league's playoffs.

Janisch, a senior forward, poured in 40 points to set the all-time school record for boys and girls, and reach 1,501 career points.

The Cougars will face Mercy Vocational for the title on Thursday.

Mercy Vocational advanced with a 44-27 verdict over visiting Collegium Charter, using a 21-0 run to overcome an early 4-3 deficit and take the lead for good. Teharah Worrell scored 10 points in the run and finished with 21 points.

Bicentennial. Jenkintown opened the league's quarterfinals with a 19-16 win over visiting New Hope-Solebury. Emma Dorshimer and Ruby Westkaemper each hit foul shots in the final 30 seconds.

Morrisville advanced with a 37-30 overtime win against visiting Lower Moreland. Kievanna Lacey (17) tied the game at the end of regulation with a layup and put the Bulldogs ahead to stay in OT with a layup.

Jamie Barr blocked 14 Bristol shots, anchoring a defense that carried host Delco Christian to a 59-30 win. Stacey MacArthur led the Knights' offense with 22 points.

Christopher Dock eased past visiting Phil-Mont Christian, 49-18, with Olivia Bradford's 19 points.
