30-year mortgages stay at record low

Thirty-year fixed rate mortgages remained at a record low 3.87 percent for the third consecutive week, Freddie Mac reported Thursday.

It was the 11th consecutive week of numbers below 4 percent. A year ago, the 30-year rate was 5 percent. The 15-year rate was 3.16 percent, the same as last week. A year ago, it was 4.27 percent.
