Perkiomen School takes Tri-County hoops crown

Nizar Kapic and Bruce Brittingham hit four three-point baskets apiece, and the long-range shooting powered Perkiomen School to a 69-32 victory over Del-Val Friends in the Tri-County League boys' basketball championship game on Thursday night at Hill School.

Kapic led four Indians in double figures with 20 points, and joined Eric Fanning (15 points) with nine points each in a decisive 30-6 second-quarter spree.

Bicentennial. Lower Moreland started the second quarter trailing visiting Calvary Christian by a point but reeled off 28 of the next 31 points and cruised to a 59-49 playoff semifinal win.

Holy Ghost Prep also moved into the title game via a 49-30 triumph at Bristol. The Firebirds, paced by Tom Heston's 14 points and Jack Kalnes' 11, led by 22-4.

Girls' Basketball

Held to two points through three quarters, Kievanna Lacey, Morrisville's top scorer this season, got loose for eight points in the fourth period to wrap up a 47-35 win over visiting Delco Christian in the Bicentennial League's playoff semifinals.

Christopher Dock will face the Bulldogs for the title after getting past visiting Jenkintown, 32-25.

Olivia Bradford's 13 points combined with Laura Swintoski's eight points and 10 rebounds to help the Pioneers offset a 15-point game by the Drakes' Emma Dorshimer.

Tri-County. Anna Janisch supplied most of Kimberton Waldorf's offense with 17 points and guided the Cougars to the league championship with a 29-23 victory over Mercy Vocational in the playoff final at Hill School.

Catholic. Balanced scoring by Omowumi Rafiu (14), Maureen Fiocca (14), and Tamyra Laws (11) enabled Neumann-Goretti to win its league quarterfinal game, 61-44, over visiting Lansdale Catholic. Rafiu added 13 rebounds.

St. Hubert's final game was a 48-31 loss at Archbishop Wood. Wood's Lauren Nealon scored 12 points, and the Bambies' Amanda Linder had 11.
