2. Out in the open
For the first time, the NCAA is allowing the general public to see its RPI list, its "nitty-gritty" document, and its summary sheets for each of the 344 teams in Division I. This information can be found at www.ncaa.org/rpi. "As we talk about transparency, one of the exciting parts for fans is after the selections are made, is to talk about who they wanted in, who got in that they didn't want in, and who was on the bubble," Hathaway said. However, the RPI list is updated only on Mondays.
3. We're bustin'
There are some terrific matchups coming Saturday in the 10th year of ESPN's Bracket Busters series, where a host of teams maybe a step away from the NCAA tournament bubble get a chance to impress the selectors. One of the more important games is Drexel at Cleveland State, only the seventh game for each team against a Top 100 opponent this season. Other notable contests are St. Mary's at Murray State, Wichita State at Davidson, Akron at Oral Roberts, Nevada at Iona, and Long Beach State at Creighton.
4. Linsanity found here
We searched diligently for a Jeremy Lin item this week and the Associated Press provided this from Harvard coach Tommy Amaker. "It's pretty cool and it's pretty neat to see how he has kind of become somewhat of a global figure and a global star," said Amaker, who took over the Crimson in Lin's sophomore season. "But he has many layers to him - being a Harvard grad, being an Asian American kid, being an outstanding basketball player, being a person whose faith is very important to him, being an incredible person and a great teammate." Amaker also credited Lin as helping to "elevate our program to where we are now," which is on the verge of Harvard's first NCAA berth since 1946.
5. A little off
