Clayton/Glassboro takes Dist. 29 title

Paulsboro's reign, which included district titles in 31 of the last 33 seasons, came to an end on Saturday when the combined team representing Clayton and Glassboro did the unthinkable by edging Clearview, 188-185.5, for the District 29 wrestling championship at Gloucester County College.

Heavyweight Tom Rementer was the only individual winner for Clayton/Glassboro, which exhibited superior depth in sending a dozen wrestlers to the semifinals for the first title in program history. The team-wide effort earned Dan Antonelli the Coach of the Year award.

John VanBrill of Clearview, with a 5-3 decision at 126 pounds, took home the district's Outstanding Wrestler award for the second year in a row.
