Fleury, Penguins shut out Rangers

Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 27 shots to tie Tom Barrasso's franchise record of 22 career shutouts and carry the Pittsburgh Penguins past the New York Rangers, 2-0, Tuesday night.

Evgeni Malkin scored his 33d goal of the season and added an assist on Steve Sullivan's tally to help the Penguins bounce back from a listless loss in Buffalo on Sunday and handle the Eastern Conference's top team with relative ease.

Henrik Lundqvist made 29 stops for the Rangers, but New York lost for the second time in three games. The Rangers were outplayed for lengthy stretches by the Penguins.

Devils beat Leafs in OT

Mark Fayne scored 1:18 into overtime to give the New Jersey Devils a 4-3 victory over the host Toronto Maple Leafs.

Petr Sykora had a goal and an assist for New Jersey (34-20-4), and David Clarkson and former Maple Leafs forward Alexei Ponikarovsky also scored. The Devils have won four games in a row.

Sabres top Isles

Ryan Miller made 30 saves, including stopping Matt Moulson on the doorstep with 4:04 left, and led the host Buffalo Sabres to a 2-1 win over the New York Islanders.

Jason Pominville and Derek Roy had two assists for Buffalo (26-27-7), which jumped a point ahead of the Islanders (25-27-8) in the Eastern Conference standings.

Three-team deal

The Tampa Bay Lightning acquired a first-round pick in the 2012 draft and minor-league defenseman Sebastien Piche in a three-team trade that also involved Colorado and Detroit.

Tampa Bay sent forward Steve Downie to the Avalanche for defenseman Kyle Quincey. The Lightning then dealt Quincey to the Red Wings for a first-round pick and Piche.

The moves were announced on Tuesday.

Injury list

Blackhawks center Jonathan Toews was scratched from Chicago's game against the Detroit Red Wings with an upper-body injury.

Tampa Bay Lightning captain Vincent Lecavalier will be sidelined indefinitely because of a broken hand.

Detroit Red Wings star Pavel Datsyuk is expected to miss two weeks after having arthroscopic surgery to remove fragments from his right knee.

St. Louis Blues forward Jamie Langenbrunner will miss at least a month with a broken bone in his left foot sustained in a loss Sunday at Chicago.
