Wilson football coach steps down

Posted: February 24, 2012

Chris Crowley, who led Woodrow Wilson to a division title last season, has resigned as football coach after four seasons.

Crowley said Friday that he recently returned to school to pursue a master's degree and was "unable to put forth the time that is necessary and required to coach the football team."

Crowley's record was 21-20. Last season, Crowley led the Tigers to a 7-4 record, a berth in the South Jersey Group 3 tournament, and the West Jersey Football League Independence Division title.

Woodrow Wilson was 4-0 in division play. Of the Tigers' four losses, two were to undefeated South Jersey Group 3 champion Timber Creek and the other two were by scores of 32-31 to Delsea and 33-32 in overtime to Triton.

"I wish the players and program the best of luck moving forward," Crowley said.
